Our Map Is Live
Since the earliest cartographers used quill and ink to chart the world, maps have been used as tools of discovery. We’ve created our own version: a collective guide of the best places and pursuits from the rainbow-colored markets of Central America, the high peaks of China and the speakeasies of Paris, Madrid and San Diego, along with other site-specific delights. The map also includes of the locations of our members, who link up with each other to complete Team challenges like The Toast and forthcoming Chowtime!
Among the leading entries so far, submitted through our Cartographer’s Mark card, are the Fagotto Jazz Bar hidden in an alley on the island of Crete and surrounded by Venetian architecture (from Josh Gagner), The Noble Experiment for improvisational cocktails in San Diego (ask for the Dealer’s Choice, recommends Laurie Bramlage), and El Palacio de Los Cholados, a haven for the icy Columbian beverage (from Sara Schmitt).
"There's very few places in the US where you can get cholados, the delicious street food from Cali, Colombia,” Schmitt wrote in her entry. “This place is the real deal and the lines sometimes wrap around the block in the summer. I was fortunate to live next door to this gem for 3 years. I cried when I left."
