As our community continues to grow, we wanted to create an inspiring document that members could carry with them wherever they are in the world, and be reminded of what we consider to be noble values. But like our map, it wouldn’t be a True artifact if it was in a final, hardened form. We believe in producing things that are alive, ever-changing, and capable of multiple evolutions.
As part of a recent Challenge, we had members read our original document (see it here) and then make their own adventure-packed adendums based on their own far-flung experiences and battle scars. Below are some of our favorite submissions so far.
"Life is a riot of beauty and wonder, the only appropriate response is gratitude,” wrote Daniel Eastman, a long swordsman enthusiast from Colorado. “Approach each moment with a sense of awe."
There’s Cedar Edell, of Oregon, who believes that we must Seek Challenge For Its Own Sake. He wrote: “Challenge makes us grow, and is worthy for its own right, as its own end..."
Member Ed McCarthy from northern Illinois is calling on us to attend to our most micro-sized findings. “That bird, that leaf, that stone, that spider, all the small moments that weave themselves into the tapestry of memory,” he wrote.
